When Nokia introduced the series N76, there was something that seized attention. The N series of this one appeared to girly. Unlike other N series that first has emerged, that more often put forward futuristik design. Now, with the red colour metallic dominant, that was combined with lis silver shone, as well as the design of the thin fold, made N76 more featured his feminine impression. Moreover, when in the situation standby, screen outside changed to the mirror.

N76 used the concept flat keypad, that the measurement big button. Appear at first glance, was similar with keypad that was used by Motorola in the series of RAZR. Even was made from the metal material, the switch continued to be awakened his softness. Moreover with the big measurement, the switch was very ergonomic when being used.

Really comfortable used the based Symbian cellular phone series 60, that used UI S60 3rd edition. Beginning with starting that was fast, the response ordered that also fast (like when being used typed the SMS), as far as the function feature that walked very good. The quality of the voice did not need to be doubted. So also with the function of the connection, that accepted the consignment file PDF of 29 family planning, that were accepted only in a period less than two seconds. The video call was perfect.

Behind its sleek exterior, the Nokia N79 is a technology powerhouse. It offers a full range of multimedia experiences including integrated navigation, music with FM transmitter, high-speed connectivity, superior web browsing, at least 10 pre-loaded N-Gage games and a 5 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics. The Nokia N79 is expected to begin shipping in October 2008, with an estimated retail price of EUR 350, before taxes and subsidies.

The Nokia N79 comes with Xpress-on smart covers that are available in five cool colors: Light Sea Blue, Espresso Brown, Olive Green, White and Coral Red. A combination of three of these comes with each Nokia N79.

The convergence of photos, music and navigation in the Nokia N79 combines with high-speed 3.5G HSDPA and Wi-Fi to make it quick and easy to share experiences on websites, blogs or online communities.

Nokia Maps makes it easy to explore and navigate new surroundings by accessing more than 15 million points of interest (POI). In-built A-GPS providing turn-by-turn navigation – for walking or driving – comes with a three month integrated license on the Nokia N79.

Experience new discoveries
The innovative technology packed into this colorful offering means that accessing a rich pool of services to further enhance individual experiences is seamless. Log on to online communities like Friendster, Flickr or YouTube or click through to Nokia services such as the Nokia Music Store, N-Gage, Nokia Maps and Share on Ovi, an online service that enables consumers to share personal pictures and videos from their mobile devices.

The 5 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics, dual LED flash and video light captures sharp, clear images and video that can be edited immediately, without the need for a PC. Images can also be geotagged to specific locations. What’s more, the Nokia N79 comes packaged with a 4 GB microSD memory card that makes it possible to store around 3,000 songs, approximately 2,500 pictures and up to four hours of DVD-quality video clips that can be organized by albums or tags and uploaded directly to Share on Ovi or third party services. The addition of a sliding lens cover helps protect the top-quality lens when not in use.

A Friendster widget will also be made available for the Nokia N79 via the WidSets service. This will allow people to browse Friendster friends’ profiles, view and post shoutouts, upload pictures taken with their handset, and browse their own and friends’ photo albums. All this enables more effective communication with friends while away from a computer using the Nokia N79. New users can even register for Friendster directly on their device via a link to Friendster’s mobile site (m.friendster.com), create an account, and instantly begin participating in the Friendster global community.

To ensure each device is as distinctive as its user, customisable features are available at the Nokia Download! store, a one stop personalisation shop, already embedded in Nokia Nseries devices. It lets consumers create a unique experience for themselves by offering easy access to a multitude of popular ringtones, branded entertainment content, the latest in mobile gaming and dynamic applications for personalising mobile devices to the user’s own preferences.

The 6500 Classic is Nokia’s thinnest phone so far, and is a stunningly beautiful phone too, with its polished metal casing. It’s an easy to use phone that does just what most people want from a phone – make calls, take pictures and play music. Supplied with 1 Gbyte of memory and a stereo headset, it’s already equipped to go. The one thing missing from this 3G phone is video calling. We have deducted marks because of poor battery life and the small keypad. Available in Black or Bronze.

Now here’s a tasty-looking phone. Nokia have finally joined the ultra-thin revolution with the 6500 Classic phone. Incredibly it’s a 3G phone! And doesn’t it look nice, with its sleek aluminium casing (“individually polished”, according to the Nokia blurb) and available in Black and Bronze. Let’s pause a moment to enjoy the looks.

OK, having drooled enough, let’s look at the exterior of the phone in more detail. There’s absolutely nothing to complain about here. Whereas Sony Ericsson seem intent on destroying nice phones with unergonomic keypads, Nokia have learned their lesson from making “cool” keypads and have provided the 6500 Classic with a small but functional keypad and navigation key. The combination of an ergonomic design, a plain Series 40 interface (no Smartphone junk here!) make this an easy phone to use. Power it up, and the next thing to enjoy is the large and ultra high-resolution LCD display boasting the latest 16 million colour display technology. It’s a display that you can easily customise with a choice of themes (wallpapers, sounds, screensavers, and backgrounds).

The featurelist of the 6500 Classic… matches what you’d expect from a mid-range 3G phone in 2007: a 2 megapixel camera (no autofocus – so don’t throw away your digital camera!), a competent music player (although support for Bluetooth stereo headsets is missing), a video camera and good connectivity via USB and Bluetooth. There’s nothing to get very excited about here, but it ticks all the boxes that most people will care about. One obvious thing that’s missing, considering that this is a 3G phone, is video calling. There’s no front-facing camera, so video calling is out, I’m afraid. However, the sales package does include a Nokia Stereo Headset HS-82 and a microUSB Connectivity Cable CA-101, so we can’t fault Nokia for their generosity there.

One of the unusual features of the 6500 Classic is that it has a fixed memory of 1 Gbyte, of which around 920 Mbytes is available to the user. Now this has its good points and bad points. The bad point is that there’s no slot for increasing the memory beyond 1 Gbyte. But on the other hand, 920 Mbytes is enough to store 200-300 songs, which is certainly enough for most users, and it means that the memory is all easily accessible in one place, without any hassle of copying data from internal memory to memory card. Given the kind of phone that the 6500 Classic is (i.e. mid-range) we think that this is a perfectly good solution. Other thing to point out is that battery life is poor, which isn’t surprising for an ultraslim 3G handset. It’ll probably need charging every other day.

Make no mistake, the 7710 is a massive device. It weighs in at 195g (6.87oz) and measures up at 128mm x 69mm x 20mm (5.04″ x 2.72″ x .79″) in size. That is big, for sure, but still what I would consider pocketable – at least when compared to Nokia’s own 9500 Communicator, which is thicker, longer, and heavier. The size is understandable once you see the 7710′s beautiful 65k color TFT display. The display is capable of 65k colors and has a pixel resolution of 640×320. Its touch sensitive surface allows for input via a stylus that is located in a silo at the bottom right front corner of the device. The surface of the display seems reasonably resistant to normal wear and tear.

The main controls of the 7710 are……. the 5-way d-pad controller in the upper left corner, the menu and desktop buttons found below it, the two multi-function keys on the upper right hand corner, and the back/cancel key that is found just above the stylus silo in the lower right corner. Two small holes for the ear speaker are also located on the right hand side. The top edge is where you will find the voice dial button and the red and green call control buttons. These buttons are too close together and too small to be used easily, though. The release for the rear cover is also on the top edge of the 7710. The main power button is on the right hand side of the phone, and the power and pop-port connectors are on the bottom.

The 7710′s rear cover can be removed in order to get access to the battery, SIM, and MMC card slot. The device knows when the cover has been opened and automatically prepares the MMC card for removal. The MMC card can be swapped without removing the battery. The rear cover is a bit difficult to remove, and yet the fit is also not as tight as I would like. At least it doesn’t creak when you use the 7710. The opening for the ringtone and speakerphone speaker is on the back, as is the lens for the megapixel camera.

Nokia Open Studio 2006, New York, US – Nokia today introduced the Nokia N95, an all-in-one multimedia computer with a pioneering 2-way slide concept, integrated GPS functionality, a 5 megapixel camera and support for high-speed mobile networks, making it easier to watch and record videos, listen to songs, take high-quality photos, browse the internet, or catch up on email while on the move. The Nokia N95 brings a range of multimedia ingredients together, such as a fantastic display, outstanding photo and video capability and high-speed connectivity, making it the ultimate multimedia computer, said Anssi Vanjoki, Executive Vice President, Multimedia, Nokia. “This single device – which fits easily in your pocket – can replace stand-alone devices that you no longer need, whether it’s your music player, your digital camera, PDA or navigation device. Most importantly, the Nokia N95 is with you and connected when you want to use it.

Photokina Update: We now have some product photos live from Photokina 2006 – just click the link below to view them.

The innovative 2-way slide concept makes it easy to switch between different modes, going from reading maps to watching a video with a simple slide. A numeric keypad slides out from one end of the device while dedicated media keys slide out from the opposite direction, converting the display into full screen landscape mode. With powerful 3D graphics, the Nokia N95 has a stunning user interface that makes it intuitive to find the features and services you want.

With its integrated GPS at your fingertips, finding your way just got easier. The Maps application includes maps for more than 100 countries, enabling users to explore the world, find specific routes or locate services such as restaurants and hotels and covering more than 15 million points of interest. You can also purchase additional features, such as city guides and voice guided navigation.

With the Carl Zeiss optics on the 5 megapixel camera, you can capture print quality photos and DVD-like quality video clips. Photos and video clips can be enjoyed on a compatible television thanks to the device’s TV out feature and support for Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) technology.

Designed for High Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA) networks and with support for WLAN, EDGE and WCDMA networks, the Nokia N95 provides excellent coverage and speeds wherever you may be. In HSDPA networks, browsing the internet, reading email, streaming video and downloading large files can be carried out up to 10 times faster than with 3G.

The Nokia N95 also offers a first class entertainment experience with the combination of a large 2.6 QVGA 16 million color display, impressive 3D graphics, built-in stereo speakers offering a 3D stereo effect, standard 3.5 mm audio jack, support for compatible microSD cards and mini USB for convenient data transfer. Browsing the internet on the Nokia N95 is a pleasure using the Nokia Web Browser with Mini Map, with new features such as a floating toolbar, password manager and auto complete, as well as web feeds with support for Atom and auto update.

The Nokia N95 is based on the world’s leading S60 software on Symbian OS, enabling you to personalize your device from a wide choice of compatible applications that can be downloaded to the Nokia N95, including games, navigation, entertainment, productivity and creativity. The Nokia N95 comes out of the box ready to create, connect, consume and interact with some of the internet most popular services. Use Yahoo! Search to search for and find most anything on the web, scroll though a book with Amazon’s MobiPocket Reader or snap a photo and send it directly to your Flickr site.
